My work is primarily an exploration of the meanings we as individuals and society at large ascribe to human bodies. Whether abstract or more representational, the forms I create tend to be simple in their geometry and presentation. This simplicity aims to release the viewer from socially constructed interpretations of the body to better glimpse the emotions, ideas and dreams that animate our lives and make us truly human. I am currently working primarily in paper, paper clay and wood - organic materials that evoke the life within the figure and speak to the growth I seek to stimulate in myself through the work.
