Mildor Chevalier
Mildor Chevalier is a Haitian visual artist. He lives and works in New York City Mildor holds an Associate Degree in Fine Arts from the School of Design at Altos del Chavón in the Dominican Republic. He also obtained a BFA at Parsons the New School for Design in NYC and an MFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Whether through painting, drawing or sculpture, Mildor generally creates scenes that explore human experience, wishes, and dreams. His multi-cultural experiences give him access to the world of global art and he has become an international artist with individual and collective exhibitions, biennials, and art fairs from Haiti to Quebec, from New York to Shanghai, from Paris to Santo Domingo. His work is in private collections in the Dominican Republic, China, and around the world. Mildor also designed several instruction manuals with step-by-step lessons for the art supply company, Daler Rowney. Manuals titles: Master Series Drawing (colored pencil, charcoal, oil pastel), Master Series Watercolor, Master Series Acrylic, Master Series Oil, Master Series Mixed Media, including an Art Therapy Coloring book titled World Culture. Beside Mildor’s art practice, he is an art instructor at Studio In A School NYC and the School of Visual Art at the New York State Summer School of Arts (NYSSSA)
Introduction to Abstract Painting

In this course, you will explore the process of abstract painting with insightful demonstration and experiment with different techniques. Throughout the 8-week session, you will learn the different properties of acrylic paint and its mediums.
Colors, composition, textures, and layers will be examined.
Basic color mixing skill is required.
