Working in a medium of their choosing, students will be encouraged to develop their own voices and delve deeply into their artistic practice. The course is built around individual students interest, skill levels, and sensibilities. Students will work from the live model and their own reference materials. There will be demonstrations as well as frequent and rigorous individual critiques.
All levels of experience are welcome.
Self Portraiture
Arslan
This workshop will explore what makes a great self-portrait, and how we can best utilize this time-honored form of artistic expression as contemporary artists. Using a painting medium of their choice and multiple reference materials (printed photos, digital photos, video, mirror reflection, and sketching) students will strive to create a self-portrait that is expressive and cohesive. There will be a demonstration and many opportunities for individual critique.
All levels of experience and mediums are welcome.
