Curated by Maurizio Pellegrin, Executive Director, and Kathryn Cameron, of the New York School of the Arts, the exhibition features over 20 works based on the common denominator of the presence of the color red and in relation to objects and artifacts on the same tone.
This exhibition counts more than twenty works with the same number of objects which are conceptually, aesthetically, and poetically paired with them. The objects are of daily consumption, design and antique artifacts. All the works communicate the power of the red, emotions, and their settled and unsettled positions. The works in the exhibition are the result of different media and techniques, and they appear in their own strength and fragility and with a direct or subtle approach.
Artists: Janet Bruce, Karla Carballar, Kathryn Cameron, Vincenzo Casali, Pandora Castelli, Amanda Church, Holly Cunningham, Jacopo Degli’ Innocenti, Gabriela Dellosso, William Graef, Michele Rave Grassani, Betsy Lawrence, Michelle Liebler, Matthew Marello, Elizabeth O'Reilly, Maurizio Pellegrin, Marina Sagona, Judie Swanson, and Wei Yuan. Works by artists from our full-time and general programs will also be on view.
